This species is predominantly found in the Indian Ocean, particularly in the Western Indian Ocean region. The Cream Angelfish is noted for its unique colouration; it has a dark brown face and body scales tipped with brown to black, giving it a speckled appearance. The most striking features are its yellow caudal fin and the silvery-white outline on its dorsal fin. Its body is primarily cream-coloured, complemented by black fins bordered with white.
